The opening over saw Sharma face the new ball, and after a quick single he launched a 36‑ball six that set the tone. It was the fastest century by an Indian in T20Is, eclipsing Rohit Sharma’s 35‑ball record from 2017. This also made him the quickest from a Test nation to hit a T20I hundred versus another Test side.
Before the lights went on, Sharma rattled his teammates in Punjabi, urging them to finish the “series like warriors.” The BCCI clip shows him shouting, “Chak de phatte, nap de killi, subah Jalandhar, shaam nu Dilli.” His words seemed to ignite the scoreboard.
Afghanistan’s bowlers, who had been decent in the first two games, were unable to stem the onslaught. The visitors’ top order crashed after the 12th over, and they were all out by the 14th over. Nine wickets fell inside 14.1 overs.
With the series sealed, India now eyes the Asian Games. The 3‑0 clean sweep gives the team confidence as they gear up for the continental stage.
