
Shares of JSW Steel slid 4.5% to ₹1,175.2 after the company released its Q2 FY27 production figures, reflecting market caution over the modest lift.
The Indian arm delivered 7.07 MT, up 5% YoY and 11% QoQ, while the U.S. unit added 0.20 MT. Capacity utilisation in India hit 88% in Q2, a slight dip from the 90% recorded in September following the BF3 blast furnace ramp‑up.
In the first half of FY27, consolidated crude output reached 13.86 MT, up 4% YoY from 13.32 MT. JSW Steel noted that prior year figures were revised after Bhushan Power and Steel’s business was transferred to JSW‑JFE Steel in March 2026.
The stock, trading on BSE and NSE, was the second‑largest loser in the Nifty today, trailing only Adani Enterprises. With a YTD gain of just 0.7% and a 12‑month return of about 3%, investors are watching for guidance on future output and debt‑management plans.
