The Bharatiya Janata Party moved to counter growing opposition agitation over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on Friday by launching a massive nationwide campaign branded 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy.' The party has explicitly tasked its state and district units with dismantling what it calls a disinformation offensive by the Indian National Congress. The sheer scale of the operation is ambitious: every local rally must draw exactly 10,000 people.
A senior BJP leader, speaking to reporters, framed the opposition's stance as a betrayal of democratic history. "It was Congress that censored the press and imposed the Emergency," the leader said. "Gandhis also suspended and dismissed fairly elected governments." The party will leverage these historical points to frame the current SIR protests as an attempt to destabilize a functioning government.
The logistical machinery behind this push is heavy. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju, and Mansukh Mandaviya are joined by National General Secretaries Biplab Deb and Smriti Irani to lead intellectual debates in universities and coaching institutes across the country. The campaign will not just be about shouting slogans. The team will hold structured discussions on the theme 'Democracy versus Anarchy' to engage the youth and academic circles directly.
On the ground, the rally is being organized by BJP RS member Tarun Chugh alongside Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The party has already finalized a set of aggressive slogans, including 'Loktantra ki Hunkar, Arajakta ki Haar' (Thunder of Democracy, Defeat of Anarchy). The focus remains tightly on the SIR process, with the party insisting it is a necessary step to remove illegal infiltrators from the electoral rolls.
The next phase involves a digital push, with Sanjay Bhatia and Teerath Singh Rawat leading an outreach to social media influencers to amplify the SIR defense. The party aims to turn the narrative from a technical electoral issue into a broader battle for national stability.
