Mistry, a resident of Mira Road and mother to an eight‑year‑old son, had just finished her shift in a company‑provided cab that IndiGo contracted from Mayuresh Tour and Travels. The airline had arranged the transport for its employees after a series of safety concerns last year.
Police initially filed a rash‑driving case but, following the fatality, upgraded it to a death‑by‑negligence charge under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A notice has been served to the driver, who faces potential criminal liability.
