Police arrested 23‑year‑old influencer Minu Jasmine and three men in Malappuram district on Wednesday night as part of Operation Toofan, seizing 10.5 g of MDMA, syringes, a digital scale, zip‑lock packages and ₹25,000 in cash.
Jasmine, who has over 25,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok, is accused of being a front for a drug distribution network that sells MDMA to students in Vengara and Mankada.
Deputy Superintendent Subhash Babu led a joint team from the district police and the Anti‑Narcotics Special Action Force. Intelligence had pinpointed a vehicle parked near an Akshaya Centre on Kizhakkethala‑Vengara Road, which the officers seized during the raid.
The trio—Anas, 24, Shabeer TP, 24, and Sajad, 21—had been previously charged in separate MDMA cases. Police say the seized drugs may be part of a larger network that traffics through local hubs.
The case will be forwarded to the Malappuram district court, where the accused face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act; investigators are also probing the origin of the seized drugs.
