Police registered two FIRs against the INDIA Bloc on Monday, after the opposition group tore through road barricades with a mini‑truck while marching to the Supreme Court.
The protest, dubbed "March For Democracy", drew hundreds of supporters and student activists, led by Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, Saugata Roy, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Supriya Sule and Sanjay Raut, all marching in a show of strength.
The bloc filed a joint petition in the Supreme Court alleging large‑scale voter deletions and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, claiming the process compromised the integrity of elections.
Later that evening, Gandhi and Kharge, accompanied by other leaders, reached the Court to sign documents related to the petition, signalling their readiness to confront the judiciary.
The Court is scheduled to hear the case on Tuesday, while the police are investigating the alleged breach of the march permit.
