A 100‑metre stretch of a freshly laid Rs 4.75‑crore road that links the villages of Ananthasamudram and Papakkagaripalle in Pullampeta mandal was reportedly ploughed up with a tractor on October 19, a week after the Palle Panduga 3.0 project completed the section.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and TDP National Working President Nara Lokesh slammed the act as an "arrogant attack on the people" and accused YSRCP leaders, including local MLA Subba Reddy, of orchestrating the damage. They called for immediate legal action under the Revenue Recovery Act and demanded the road be rebuilt.
YSRCP denied the allegations, arguing that the incident stemmed from an unresolved land dispute. Farmers in the area had already approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court over the road’s crossing of Survey Nos. 351 and 352, claiming the project had been built without proper land acquisition or compensation.
An FIR has been lodged by villagers, and the state police have opened an investigation. The TDP has ordered a probe into the alleged perpetrators and the alleged political handlers, while the High Court is slated to hear the farmers’ case next month.
