India's men’s sepaktakraw squad clinched a bronze after a hard‑fought semifinal against Japan, falling 12‑15, 13‑15.
They had entered the knockout stage unbeaten, topping Group A with a 2‑1 win over Myanmar and earlier victories over Laos and Vietnam (15‑12, 15‑9). The group form gave them confidence heading into the last four.
Japan edged the opening set 15‑12, then held their nerve to seal the second 15‑13, turning the match in their favour. The indomitable Japanese side kept the pressure high in the final minutes.
The bronze bumps India’s tally to 72 medals – 12 gold, 25 silver, 35 bronze – and keeps the nation in the hunt for more glory on Friday’s final–day fixtures, including boxing, wrestling and hockey.
