On Thursday, Craftsman Automation reported Q2 net profit of ₹153 crore, a 68.6% YoY rise, and revenue of ₹2,945 crore, up 47.1% from ₹2,002 crore. The shares closed at ₹10,897.50, down ₹105.05, or 0.95%, after a daily low of ₹11,002.55.
Operating income (EBITDA) climbed 30% to ₹392 crore versus ₹302 crore a year earlier, yet the EBITDA margin contracted from 15.1% to 13.3%, reflecting higher cost pressure. Analysts had projected a margin of 14.2%, so the decline signals a tightening cost base, per the company’s filing.
The engineering firm, which supplies precision components to automotive and industrial sectors, beat revenue estimates of ₹2,750 crore set by 12 analysts, but missed the consensus net profit of ₹140 crore, according to a Reuters poll. The stock’s negative performance despite the beat hints at margin concerns.
Looking ahead, the company will unveil its 2026 guidance on June 15, with a focus on cost control and margin recovery. Investors will watch for any adjustment to its capital expenditure plans, especially in the powertrain segment, as stated in the upcoming earnings call.
