Tech Mahindra's stock closed at ₹1,533.4 after a board announcement on dividend and bonus shares.
The board will convene on Oct 15‑16 to decide on a ₹36 per share interim dividend and a bonus issue, marking the first such move since 2015.
Historically, the company paid ₹36 per share in July last year, its highest record, and has distributed ₹168 per share in dividends over the past three years.
In March 2015, Tech Mahindra issued one bonus share for every share held and split its ₹10 face‑value shares into two ₹5 shares. Today, 7.1 lakh retail shareholders own 6.18% of the company.
The stock fell 6.4% in the past month, trailing the IT services sector's 5.1% decline, signalling investor caution amid rising costs.
Results will be released on Oct 15; analysts project a 4% earnings growth if the interim dividend is approved, which could lift the EPS to ₹1.20 from ₹1.15.
