Justice Sachin Datta, in CS(OS) 815/2026, ordered Inventiva to stop publishing any article containing defamatory imputations against Krishan Rattan, effective 6 September 2026.
The ruling followed an earlier August order—24 August 2026—in which the same court restrained Inventiva from circulating pieces that could impede Ankiti Bose’s exercise of her legal rights, directing the platform to cease posts on LinkedIn and other social media.
Defendants 1‑5, identified as the editorial staff and site administrators, now face a conditional restraint; they may still pursue fact‑finding but cannot publish the contested content. The court’s judgment rested on a prima facie case and a balance of convenience, preserving the defendants’ investigative freedom while protecting the plaintiffs.
The matter will be presented before the Joint Registrar on 13 October and before the court on 29 October, where the parties’ substantive claims and defenses will be heard.
Krishan Rattan, who steered Terra Invest to a ₹5,000 crore valuation and a $200 million funding round this year, says the allegations have already rattled investor confidence and jeopardized ongoing partnership talks. His counsel cited an English consent order from 5 August 2026, underscoring the court’s recognition that the defamation claims lack a proven basis for fraud or wrongdoing.
