
Sukhchain Singh, posted as an assistant sub‑inspector with the Government Railway Police, was riding his motorcycle home when three assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at him near Jagdev Khurd village. The gunmen fired a single burst, hit Singh in the left arm, and then rode away before police could intervene.
Singh was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Ajnala, where doctors rendered emergency treatment for a bullet wound that left him with a temporary paralysis of his arm.
