Indian gangster Himanshu Bhau and his associate Neeraj Kaushik were seized by the FBI on the outskirts of Las Vegas and are now held at the Henderson Detention Centre under ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations. Bhau, whose real name is Himanshu Ritoliya and hails from Rohtak, faces 18 criminal cases in India and was named in an Interpol Red Notice issued in August 2023.
Bhau’s criminal career began at 17 when he allegedly attempted to murder a rival and later escaped from a juvenile correctional facility in Hisar in 2020. He has long cultivated a network that includes the Bambiha and Bawana gangs, while maintaining a bitter rivalry with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar outfits that were linked to the attack on Bollywood actor Tigor Shroff.
The extradition process has been launched by Indian authorities, with the Central Bureau of Investigation coordinating with ICE under the Interpol framework. Delhi Police and Haryana Police have filed the necessary paperwork, and the CBI is preparing the legal documentation required for the transfer.
In 2024, Bhau is believed to have claimed responsibility for a shooting at Delhi’s Burger King in Rajouri Garden that killed a 26‑year‑old man; investigators say the victim was targeted under Bhau’s orders following a dispute over a 2020 murder.
ICE will now process the extradition order and, once signed, hand Bhau over to the Indian embassy for transfer, marking the first step in returning the fugitive to Indian courts for trial.
