The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a prosecution complaint against FIITJEE Limited and its directors, Dinesh Kumar Goel and Monila Goel, before the special PMLA court in Ghaziabad on April 25, 2025, alleging that the coaching firm siphoned ₹85.79 crore in student fees.
The complaint follows four FIRs—three in Noida and Greater Noida and one in Bhopal—filed by state police after 32 FIITJEE coaching centres were abruptly shut between May 2024 and February 2025, leaving 14,411 students unable to receive the promised instruction.
ED claims the company continued enrolling students for programmes slated to run until March 2029, even as it was aware of its inability to deliver; the alleged misuse of fees is classified as proceeds of crime under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The investigation also uncovered that the Goel directors received ₹24.92 crore in salaries from 2022‑23 onwards, with Dinesh Kumar Goel drawing roughly ₹56 lakh a month and Monila Goel more than ₹25 lakh, while other staff faced salary arrears.
Searches conducted on April 24, 2025, seized ₹10 lakh in cash and jewellery worth ₹4.86 crore, and on October 9, 2026, properties valued at ₹66.92 crore were provisionally attached under PMLA.
The special PMLA court will now decide whether to impose conviction and confiscate the ₹71.88 crore in assets seized by the ED; a verdict is expected within the next few months.
