Delhi's temperatures fell below normal after a light rain shower on Saturday, prompting the Indian Meteorological Department to issue a yellow alert. The maximum is now expected to hover around 30‑32 °C on Sunday, while the minimum should sit between 21‑23 °C.
Safdarjung, the city's primary weather station, logged a minimum of 23.2 °C, 0.7 °C below normal and 1 °C lower than the previous day. The maximum hit 29.2 °C, 5.1 °C below normal and 3.8 °C lower than Friday.
Palam's maximum dipped to 28 °C, 3.2 °C lower than Friday, and its minimum settled at 20.5 °C, 0.9 °C below the day before. Lodhi Road recorded a 22.8 °C minimum, while Ayanagar matched that figure, about 1.2 °C less than the prior day.
Between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm, Safdarjung observed 0.2 mm of rain, with Lodhi Road recording 0.5 mm. The Central Pollution Control Board logged a 24‑hour average AQI of 72 at 4 pm, down from 78 on Friday, remaining in the satisfactory range.
An IMD official said a generally cloudy sky persisted, with one or two spells of very light to light rain at most places, and moderate rain possible at many spots toward night. Residents were urged to stay alert for sudden showers.
The department has advised citizens to keep windows closed and monitor local bulletin boards for updates on rainfall intensity and potential flooding.
