Soori admitted that during that marathon session, he felt he was sitting with his own father. “I felt like I was with my Appa,” Soori said, referencing the striking resemblance in demeanor and intensity between Jason and Vijay.
It’s a heavy compliment in Tamil cinema. Comparing a debutant to the superstar who defined a generation isn’t something you do lightly. Soori emphasized Jason’s humility as a key trait, noting that while the young man is destined for success as a director, he should also consider stepping in front of the camera. “You being humble is a big thing,” Soori told Jason.
