Katie Zacharia was dismissed on Oct. 16, five days after being sworn in as White House press secretary, the shortest tenure in the Trump administration.
She was named by President Trump after a string of appearances on conservative media, bypassing White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
Zacharia’s first briefing saw her stumble over a statement, accidentally calling her husband “my president,” and later she admitted on Fox News that she had not passed the bar exam, fueling criticism.
In a chat with Joel Pollak of The California Post, Zacharia said she had no regrets, praising her courage in front of critics and her commitment to Trump, but she also acknowledged the challenges of the role.
The White House is now seeking a new press secretary ahead of the midterms, with candidates such as CNN commentator Scott Jennings, former Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, and staffers Margo Martin and Anna Kelly on the shortlist.
