Nuneaton Road in Fillongley, Warwickshire, has logged 11 collisions in four years, prompting the council to approve traffic lights for the busy crossroads last month.
The Knit and Natter group, led by parish clerk Heather Badham, spent four months knitting 12 life‑size figures that mimic police officers, speed cameras, and even a RAF veteran in a high‑visibility vest.
Residents say the display has already altered drivers' behaviour: "I saw the brake lights come on when I passed the knitted officer," Docker told the Good News Network.
Still, the campaign has drawn mixed reactions; the knitted RAF figure, a tribute to a local veteran, vanished early this morning, leaving the group to consider replacement and file a police report.
Council spokesman Chris Miller said the new traffic lights will be installed by the end of the month, while Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe confirmed the junction remains a collision hotspot and will review additional safety measures.
