On Saturday, Omar Abdullah and Nidhi Razdan announced their marriage via X, with Abdullah posting a photo and caption reading "A new journey began yesterday" and Razdan replying "It's done bro @OmarAbdullah", confirming the union.
The ceremony was a modest affair held in Srinagar, attended by Abdullah's parents, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, sister Mollie, three siblings, and Razdan’s parents MK and Sarla Razdan.
Omar Abdullah’s previous marriage to Payal Abdullah, which produced two sons, was formally dissolved by the Supreme Court in July after both parties filed a joint application for divorce under Article 142, following mediation by senior advocate Kapil Sibal.
The court, hearing before Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe, accepted the settlement, agreeing to dismiss all outstanding claims and issue orders in accordance with the parties’ agreement.
Family members attended the ceremony, signaling the end of a prolonged legal saga that had strained the Chief Minister’s personal life.
With the divorce finalized, Omar Abdullah and Nidhi Razdan have now begun their married life together, while the Supreme Court is set to issue the final decree on the dissolution.
