Paris police announced on Wednesday that protests will be prohibited in the capital’s main civic and tourist precincts from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm on Thursday.
The ban covers the Élysée, the National Assembly, the Senate, the Louvre, and the Champs‑Élysées, leaving only peripheral neighborhoods open for demonstrations.
Paris police said the restriction follows a surge of street rallies that disrupted traffic and raised security concerns across the city last week.
The ban will be lifted after 8:00 pm, but authorities warn that any breach will be met with immediate enforcement.
The government will reassess the situation after midnight and determine whether to extend the ban further.
