Reliance Industries shares slid 0.47% to ₹1,196.20 on the NSE as traders awaited the company’s board meeting on Oct 30, 2026, where the Q2 FY27 earnings will be approved. The filing, released Tuesday, confirms the analyst call will follow the board session.
In Q1 FY27, the conglomerate posted a consolidated net profit of ₹20,946 crore, up 23% from ₹16,971 crore in Q4 FY26 and a staggering 20% from the ₹17,500 crore year‑ago figure, excluding a one‑time ₹8,924 crore gain on its Asian Paints stake. Revenue climbed to ₹3.09 lakh crore, a 5.8% YoY rise, while EBITDA rose to ₹47,517 crore, lifting the margin to 15.4% from 15.0% last quarter.
Analysts had pencilled in a 15.2% margin and a ₹3.00 lakh crore revenue target for Q1 FY27. The actual 15.4% margin beats estimates, but the 5.8% revenue growth falls short of the 7.2% consensus, prompting a 0.47% dip in the stock. The telecom arm Jio still lags in subscriber gains, while retail and digital services show muted momentum.
Looking ahead, the company is expected to lift its Q2 FY27 revenue guidance to ₹3.15 lakh crore and maintain a 15.5% EBITDA margin, according to an interview with CEO Mukesh Ambani on the NSE. Investors will also scrutinise the oil‑to‑chemicals segment, which accounts for 35% of total revenue, and the impact of new regulatory policies on the retail chain.
With the next earnings call slated for Oct 30, traders should prepare for potential upside if the conglomerate manages to close the revenue gap and sustain margin expansion. The market will also gauge the company’s debt‑management strategy, as it aims to reduce leverage by 2027.
