On Friday morning, 50 Telangana police officers burst through the front grill of BRS convenor Krishank’s Hyderabad home, seizing him after he posted a critical remark on social media. According to CCTV footage, the officers used a hammer to breach the grill at 5:13 a.m., and Krishank told reporters the police had arrived with an unusually large force for a simple notice.
KTR, the BRS working president, fired back on X, calling the raid "high‑handed" and accusing the police of violating the Constitution. "Rahul Gandhi, you carry a copy of the Constitution and preach sermons... Your government in Telangana is acting in exactly the opposite manner," KTR wrote, directly challenging the Congress leader.
Krishank’s seven‑year‑old daughter was seen crying in the doorway, and his wife later said the family was left shaken. Krishank claimed the raid was retaliation for a prior incident involving masked police at Saifabad station, where KTR’s staff had been attacked.
The arrest has led the BRS to request an emergency meeting with Telangana officials, while KTR has urged Congress to hold a press conference to address the allegations. Rahul Gandhi is expected to reply to the tweet during a televised interview later today.
