27‑year‑old Metallica Rose Harrison dialed 911 at 3:13 p.m. on Oct 12 from room 2030 of Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Poconos, asking police for help in ending her life after she claimed she could not find a vein. She was found to have stabbed her husband Charles Harrison and their 3‑year‑old son, identified only by the initials TH, to death inside the same room. The Pocono Township Police Department responded within minutes, arriving to discover fatal stab wounds to the chest of both victims.
Investigators recovered a butcher’s knife and a small knife, along with 80 to 90 other pieces of evidence, from room 2030. Great Wolf Lodge staff confirmed that neither knife had originated from the resort’s inventory, and that the family had checked in on September 21 and was slated to check out the following day.
A dispatcher on the scene, who was later identified as a trained EMT, heard Harrison plead that she wanted to be with her husband and son and that she was “suicidal, not stupid.” She told medics, “Every day, I work so hard to be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” before being transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Harrison was taken to the nearest medical facility, where she was hospitalized after sustaining injuries of her own. She has been formally charged with two counts of criminal homicide, and authorities have described the incident as an isolated domestic tragedy that poses no threat to the wider community.
The case will now move to the courthouse, where she is expected to be arraigned on the homicide charges this week, pending further investigation.
