Family members say Jagga had been gathering video evidence of drug transactions in Namol village and had repeatedly approached local officials, only to face intimidation. After a confrontation with panchayat members, Jagga’s home was allegedly broken into, property damaged, and CCTV cameras smashed, according to his wife and a close friend. The police have registered a criminal case for assault and property damage while an ongoing investigation seeks to corroborate the family’s claims.
Police released a statement that Jagga had previously threatened suicide and that a daily diary entry was filed by the village head.
