He joins the board with a resume that reads like a playbook for auto component supply: 25+ years in manufacturing, business development and plant operations, plus a current role as Technical Director of Operations and Business Development at Omega Bright Steel.
The centre will focus on advanced machining, surface finishing and quality compliance—areas that are increasingly critical as Indian OEMs shift toward electric vehicles, which demand tighter tolerances and higher reliability.
Prime’s decision aligns with the government’s push for local component production under the EV mandate, where suppliers are expected to keep more than 40% of parts in India. The appointment is seen as a strategic step to meet those targets and reduce supply chain bottlenecks.
While the exact launch date of the incubation centre remains unannounced, the company has indicated that it is already piloting prototype parts for a few flagship models. This development gives buyers a clearer picture of when they might see improved component availability in the market.
