Ed Sheeran performed at a private New York fundraiser on 19 October 2026, raising $1 million for charities aiding disadvantaged children in Suffolk. The Lentonbrook Foundation announced the money will stay in the county to expand its work.
The $1 million came from an auction of memorabilia and contributions from investors tied to Ipswich Town Football Club, with former captain Matt Holland hosting the evening.
Mark Ashton, chairman and chief executive of Ipswich Town and founder of the foundation, thanked attendees and said the funds will help local charities run more programs for youth.
The foundation, established in 2017, has funded projects such as a sensory room at Langer Primary Academy and woodland adventures with Green Light Trust, and supported specialist services for children affected by domestic abuse.
The foundation will now accept grant applications from community groups across Suffolk, aiming to channel the money into expanded educational and recreational opportunities.
