The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held its Telangana unit meeting at Lamakaan in Hyderabad on Sunday, 20 September 2024, bringing together volunteers from Warangal and other districts.
The event was led by South Zone In-Charge Vijay Reddy Mallangi and coordinators Stanley Korani, Ashok Uppu, and Sreeja Reddy, all charged with extending CJP’s footprint across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
CJP’s agenda included building state and district committees, mobilising new members, and launching nationwide programmes focused on electoral‑roll revision and Election Commission accountability.
The Hyderabad gathering came as the party intensified its “Election Commission Thik Karo” campaign, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, an independent inquiry into the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and reforms to the law governing EC appointments.
The meeting’s focus on volunteer mobilisation and voter‑rights awareness signals CJP’s attempt to forge a structured grassroots network in southern India, a critical step before the party’s first protest in Mumbai on 2 October.
Following Hyderabad, CJP plans to stage demonstrations in Bengaluru, Prayagraj and Delhi, setting a timetable that could pressure the Election Commission into addressing long‑standing concerns about transparency and impartiality.
