Kerala's Special Investigation Team (SIT) has widened its inquiry into the 2025 Messi match in Kochi, adding former Sports Minister V Abdurahiman to the list of persons to be questioned.
During the 21‑hour search, officers recovered a memory card, documents, and foreign currency, and seized a liquor stock exceeding legal limits from Anto Augustine's ancestral home.
The SIT also scrutinized the use of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor for the proposed event, while the Enforcement Directorate examines the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, to whom the SIT briefed, said the evidence could lead to further investigations, and the next stage will involve presenting the findings to the state government.
