The Ministry of Defence announced Ashutosh Dixit’s appointment after a ceremonial handover at the Race Course Air Force Station.
The transition followed Air Chief Marshal AP Singh’s 43‑year career, during which he served as a veteran fighter pilot and senior commander.
Dixit has logged more than 3,500 flight hours on over 20 aircraft types, including Mirage‑2000, MiG variants, and the indigenous Tejas.
His career spans command of the Central Air Command, tenure as Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, and pivotal roles in Operations Sindoor, Safed Sagar, and Rakshak.
Under his new leadership, the IAF will focus on strategic initiatives in the Indo‑Pacific, strengthening alliances and bolstering air‑defence capabilities.
