A jet‑powered UAV launched from Russian airspace struck a platform at Dnipro railway station on Thursday morning, killing 13 people and wounding 10, Ukrainian Railways said.
The drone hit the platform where train No. 866, bound for Zaporizhzhia, was parked; the attack occurred despite an elevated threat level alert issued earlier that day.
Ukrainian Railways posted on Telegram that the UAV was jet‑powered, and that emergency responders had rushed to the scene.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strike on X, labeling it a "horrific" terrorist attack and calling for the EU, US and G7 to impose stricter sanctions on Russia.
Dnipro mayor Borys Filatov posted on social media, calling the incident a tragedy and expressing condolences to the victims' families.
Ukraine is now urging the EU, US and G7 to tighten sanctions against Moscow and to provide additional defense support as the conflict continues.
