Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defence, confirmed that eight bodies, including a toddler, were recovered and that 15 injured were taken to hospitals. He added that 60 people were still unaccounted for. Footage shows a young girl pulled alive from the wreckage.
Rescue crews, aided by local volunteers, face shortages of heavy machinery, hampering debris removal. Officials have called for international aid and additional equipment to expedite the operation.
