Elon Musk posted on X this Sunday, accusing Ambani supporters of hypocrisy for claiming Starlink cannot compete with low prices yet warning it would be a strong competitor. The claim follows Starlink's delayed launch, which was originally slated for November 2024 but has been postponed.
Musk also shared screenshots of an Al Jazeera report from 2022 and an Indian Express piece from 2024 alleging that a Reliance‑linked firm donated ₹385 crore to BJP and ₹25 crore to Shiv Sena.
Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the Indian government does not tolerate monopolies and that all satellite broadband providers must meet security requirements before launch.
Musk argued that the lack of broadband in many Indian regions denies children education and small businesses market access, and that Starlink could fill that void.
Starlink's launch remains pending until regulators clear its proposal, with the Ministry expected to review the application in the coming weeks.
