A 20‑year‑old Azerbaijani woman, traveling from Baku for business, was taken to a café in Lahore's Defence Housing Authority by two women around 11 pm on September 25, 2024. Three men joined them, offered a ride, and instead transported her to a nearby flat where she was drugged and sexually assaulted.
Police officer Anjum Bashir confirmed the victim had been staying in Raiwind for over two weeks before the incident. The assault site was near Ghazi Interchange, where the woman was left unconscious after the attackers stole her iPhone.
Investigators recovered the vehicle used in the crime from a relative of the main accused and have placed the suspects on a stop‑list to prevent their departure from Pakistan. Raids are underway to locate the remaining suspects.
The case has been registered under the Pakistan Penal Code, and the victim underwent a medical examination. Authorities are also probing the role of the two women who allegedly lured her to the café.
The Lahore Sessions Court is scheduled to hear the case next month, where the three men will face charges of drugging, gang rape, and theft.
