Groww now offers access to over 10,000 US‑listed stocks and ETFs, charging a brokerage of 0.1% on every transaction. The move comes after the company’s official statement that it has opened the facility to all registered users, allowing fractional shares from $1.
Zerodha’s beta rollout covers 2,000 US stocks and about 1,000 ETFs, with a minimum fee of $0.01 and a maximum of $10 per order. Angel One has waived brokerage until December 2026, after which it will charge 0.1% per trade; Upstox offers more than 8,000 US stocks and over 2,000 ETFs, also starting at $1 through fractional investing.
The services are routed through Gujarat International Finance Tec‑hub (GIFT City). Groww operates via Groww IFSC Private Limited under the Global Access Provider framework; Zerodha uses BSE‑owned India INX Global Access; Angel One and Upstox leverage the GAP and IFSC frameworks respectively.
Brokerage is only a slice of the cost. Currency conversion spreads, bank charges, GST and regulatory fees can add up, eroding total returns. Investors are urged to compare the full cost of overseas trading before committing.
Groww anticipates a rise in overseas inflows as it expands its US coverage. The platform plans to roll out the full beta to all customers by the end of Q3, which could boost its retail trading volume and position it as a leader in the growing segment of international investing.
