Beyoncé’s BeyGood foundation just dropped $50,000 into In a Perfect World, a non-profit that teaches kids how to lead, not just learn. It’s a solid move for an organization that has already touched 50,000 lives across 35 school projects in eight countries.
The timing hits hard. With education budgets shrinking and after-school programs getting cut, this money lets In a Perfect World expand its Youth Ambassadors and REACH initiatives. Manuela Testolini, the founder, says they’ve logged 20,000 hours of service led by young people, and this grant helps them keep that momentum going.
What stands out is the focus on cross-border leadership. Testolini talks about taking US-based young leaders to Central America to build schools with indigenous communities. It’s less about charity and more about empowering kids to find their voice globally.
BeyGood, launched in 2013, has backed everything from LA wildfire relief to the $120,000 grants for Atlanta small businesses. This latest grant fits its core pillars: education, entrepreneurship, and community response.
For now, the $50,000 gives In a Perfect World room to breathe and grow. It won’t fix the broader shortfall in educational funding, but it helps hundreds of kids get the support they need right now.
