Delhi Police on Thursday prohibited a gathering at Central Park in Connaught Place on Oct. 16, following a call from Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke.
"The party has urged people to gather at 5 p.m. with the tricolour," said DCP PRO Neha Yadav at a press briefing, adding a clarifying tone.
Even AAP has mobilised its workers, urging mass participation, but police warned that any violation of the prohibitory order would trigger legal action.
NDMC notified the police that Central Park will stay closed Oct. 16-17 for administrative reasons, and asked for tight security to prevent unauthorised entry.
Market groups also sought protection, citing potential disruption to their businesses. Delhi Police will enforce the prohibitory order and may still allow a small, sanctioned flag‑waving group.
