PM Modi touched down at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 4:15 pm aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft, then boarded a helicopter for Khurda before driving to the RBI facility at Info Valley‑II in Jatni. He is slated to spend about an hour at the data centre before returning to the airport by road around 6:30 pm.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman joined the ceremony separately, adding a second high‑profile voice to the event. Police deployed roughly 2,100 personnel for the visit, and traffic restrictions were imposed from 5:40 to 6:40 pm along the route linking the RBI centre to the airport.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi praised the facility as a catalyst for Odisha’s development, noting that the 18.55‑acre complex will be the state’s second RBI data centre after Navi Mumbai. He highlighted that the foundation stone was laid on March 22 2023 by former RBI governor Shaktikanta Das.
The PM’s arrival follows a visit four months earlier when he attended a BJP‑state event commemorating two years of governance in Odisha, underscoring the political significance of the new digital infrastructure.
