ABVP swept all six seats in the Tripunithura Government Sanskrit College union election, ending the Students' Federation of India's (SFI) long‑standing dominance.
SFI had controlled the campus union for years, but the BJP‑aligned ABVP seized the posts of chairperson, vice‑chairperson, general secretary, magazine editor, arts club secretary, and university union councillor.
The victory follows the BJP's recent takeover of Tripunithura municipality, which ended 45 years of Left rule in the local body.
An ABVP spokesperson called the result a rejection of SFI's "anti‑student policies", accusing the former leaders of misusing student‑collected funds and neglecting Sanskrit promotion.
Snigdha M Hari, Aditya T A, Vignesh Bhatt, Vignesh D, Anjali T, Nivedya K N, Shivani R, and Avani C B were elected to the respective positions, signalling a complete overhaul.
The win is expected to give ABVP a surge of momentum across Kerala campuses, as the party seeks to expand its influence in the state's student political arena.
