Fortis Healthcare’s stock surged 3.12% to ₹759.50 on Wednesday after announcing the ₹277 crore purchase of Suguna Hospital in Bengaluru.
The 110‑bed facility, commissioned in 2006, brought ₹50 crore FY26 revenue and sits on Dr Rajkumar Road, Rajajinagar. Its infrastructure can be scaled to 150 beds, offering the group a significant growth envelope in North‑West Bengaluru.
Fortis already bought People Tree Hospital earlier this year, and the three sites now give a cluster capacity of about 500 beds. With the new addition, the company’s Bengaluru footprint approaches 1,000 beds, a 40% jump from the previous quarter.
CEO Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi said the deal aligns with Fortis’s cluster strategy, aiming to consolidate services and invest in infrastructure upgrades, clinical programmes, and further bed expansion.
Analysts now project FY27 EBITDA margin at 12%, up from 9% last year, and forecast ₹3,200 crore revenue. The next earnings call on December 15 will show whether the market’s expectations hold.
