Tata’s compact sedan, the Aeris, is slated to hit Indian roads on 25 September 2026. It follows the Tigor and aims to slot into the sub‑4‑metre sedan market, where buyers look for space and affordability.
The Aeris steps away from the Tigor’s bland aura with a sharper front fascia, LED headlamps integrated with daytime running lights, new fog lamps, and a revised bumper that gives it a more assertive stance. The alloy‑wheel set, darker than the predecessor, adds a touch of sportiness.
Inside, the cabin feels like a scaled‑up Tiago, with a 10.24‑inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a new two‑spoke steering wheel. Cruise control, wireless charging, a 360‑degree camera, automatic climate control, and a centre console with cup holders and storage give it a modern feel.
Under the hood, the Aeris will likely keep the 1.2‑litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns 85 hp and 113 Nm, paired with a 5‑speed manual or AMT. A CNG version is also expected, offering a cleaner alternative.
Priced between ₹6 lakh and ₹9 lakh, the Aeris will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze. It is expected to roll out across major metros by mid‑2027, with a possible launch event in Delhi and Mumbai. Buyers should watch for the final trim list and any incentives tied to the upcoming EV mandate.
