Elon Musk tweeted on Wednesday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should resign amid accusations that the U.S. has compromised Ukraine’s Starlink satellite communications.
The tweet follows Ukraine’s claim that the United States, by altering access to Musk’s Starlink network, has denied the country timely intelligence on Russian missile strikes.
Kyiv officials, citing a senior official in the capital, said the U.S. had threatened to cut intelligence sharing, a move that forced soldiers on the front lines to rely on outdated radio systems, delaying critical responses.
President Zelensky, after the U.S. announced a diesel‑supply deal with Moscow, dismissed the accusation as “betrayal” and demanded the restoration of full Starlink services.
The tweet has inflamed diplomatic tensions; Kyiv has summoned the U.S. ambassador for an urgent briefing, and the next U.S. intelligence briefing is slated for Friday.
