Fort Lauderdale police released a report detailing an argument over a breakup that escalated into a gun threat.
The girlfriend told officers she had been living with Doherty for six months, told him she wanted to end the relationship, and said he threatened to beat her because he was bigger.
She said she retrieved a firearm from a table, held it by her side, and warned Doherty that she would shoot if he approached.
Doherty denied touching her, insisted she struck him, and showed footage that captured him being pushed and struck.
Police noted a visible facial injury on Doherty, recorded conflicting accounts, and ultimately placed him in custody after the September investigation.
The report will serve as evidence in the upcoming court case, with a hearing scheduled for the coming weeks.
