Yes Bank’s latest filing on October 24 announced that it still holds the option to exercise coupon discretion on its 9% AT‑1 bonds, citing an ongoing assessment following the Supreme Court ruling. The bank will disclose the decision only after evaluating the available options.
The disclosure, dated October 17, 2017, had already set the coupon payment date for the AT‑1 bonds on 18 October 2026. Bondholders have been pressing for clarity, yet the bank remains silent, stating that the evaluation is incomplete.
In the same quarter, Yes Bank reported a 8.6% QoQ rise in loans and advances, reaching ₹3,09,675 crore by September 30, 2026. Deposits climbed 12.3% to ₹3,54,084 crore, while YoY figures show loans up 23.8% and deposits up 19.5%.
Market analysts note that the decision on coupon payment could affect the bank’s credit rating and investor sentiment, especially as other banks are tightening AT‑1 issuance. A delay in coupon disbursement may also pressure the bank’s liquidity metrics.
Looking ahead, Yes Bank said it expects to finalize the assessment “in due course” and will provide further disclosures under SEBI Listing Regulations. Traders should watch for a potential shift in the bank’s credit spreads and the broader banking sector’s AT‑1 bond pricing.
