Helga Duffy, 99, stepped onto the wing of a C‑130 at RFC Rendcomb on a Wednesday, taking her place in the air.
Guinness World Records officials presented her with a certificate after verifying her flight, marking the first time a centenarian has walked on a plane’s wing.
The 99‑year‑old said she was inspired by 97‑year‑old Betty Bromage, who made headlines last year for a similar feat.
Her nieces, Jackie Rose and Julie Preece, watched her from the ground and said she wanted to prove she was still the same independent woman who would make her father proud.
Sam Conway of the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance praised her as a legend, noting the donation will help cover costs for patients flown by the service.
The charity plans to use the funds to finance emergency air transport for the next quarter, while Guinness will officially confirm the record on Thursday.
