At 12.45 am on Saturday, a truck driven by 41‑year‑old Hotam Singh slammed into two motorcycles at Crescent Apartment crossing, Sector 18, killing Gaurav and injuring Hitesh, Harshit and Dhruv.
Gaurav, 27, suffered a fatal head injury and was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where the morgue preserved his body.
The injured riders—18‑year‑old Hitesh and 20‑year‑old Harshit—were initially treated at Indira Gandhi Hospital before being transferred to higher centres, while 23‑year‑old Dhruv was admitted to Max Hospital and deemed unable to give a statement.
Police seized the truck, the motorcycles, and other evidence, and a crime team inspected the scene.
A case has been registered under the Motor Vehicles Act, and investigators will probe whether the driver’s negligence caused the fatal collision.
