Bettina Trump’s Instagram post titled “Dear Friend” praised Kremlev’s generosity, noting that the celebrations were hosted “after our wedding.” The couple’s ceremony was limited to family, a detail the post emphasized.
During a press briefing in the Oval Office on Friday, President Trump dismissed the scrutiny, saying, “It’s totally allowed. And a lot of people have parties and all.” He added that he had been informed the money would be repaid, and he heard Kremlev had already paid back the funds.
Trump’s remarks came amid heightened scrutiny of foreign influence in U.S. politics. Kremlev’s ties to Putin, including his recent trip to China with the Russian delegation, have drawn attention from international observers. The White House has not released any formal audit of the transaction.
