In Delhi, the Special Executive Magistrate remanded CJP co‑conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka to two more days of judicial custody on Tuesday, October 19, after they had already spent five days in jail.
The extension follows the leaders’ alleged flag‑waving at Jantar Mantar, an act the court deemed a violation of public order. The magistrate cited their refusal to comply with police directives as the reason for the additional detention.
Founder Abhijeet Dipke took to X on Wednesday, sharing a photo of Das and Ranka standing in front of the jail gate with smiles. He wrote, "Ashu and Saurav’s first crime was waving the Tiranga at Jantar Mantar. Their second crime? Refusing to back down," and said their spirits remain unbroken.
The next hearing will be held before the Special Executive Magistrate on October 21. Dipke said the CJP will keep agitating, and members are already drafting a march to the Parliament block.
