L.K. Advani, the 98‑year‑old former Deputy Prime Minister, was discharged from Apollo Hospitals in Mumbai on Monday after a three‑day admission for a chest infection. He had been admitted on Oct. 16 and was treated by Dr. Vinit Suri, senior consultant‑neurology.
The hospital said his condition had improved markedly, with his breathing stabilising and fever subsiding by the time of discharge. The 98‑year‑old veteran BJP leader was able to walk to the ward with assistance before being moved to a recovery room.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda visited the patient on the day of discharge, expressing relief and urging continued vigilance. Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo posted on X, wishing Advani a swift recovery and praising his enduring service to the nation.
Advani is expected to return to home care under a monitoring plan while the BJP keeps a close eye on his health; no further medical intervention is scheduled at this time. The party has said it will keep the public informed of any developments, signalling readiness for any eventuality.
