A Gurugram court handed Kalyan Bainsla and his associate Lavnish over to police custody for 48 hours on Monday. Both men face charges in connection with a hit-and-run incident that left a female motorcyclist injured.
The custody order grants the investigating officers a window to question the accused without immediate bail pressure. Lavnish, identified as Bainsla’s friend, was included in the remand order as a second accused in the case.
The incident has drawn scrutiny over road safety and the treatment of women on two-wheelers in the National Capital Region. The police are expected to file a report within the custody period, after which the court will decide on further detention or bail.
