Chandrapal Bhati, 24, faces murder charges after allegedly strangling his 32-year-old wife to death inside their rented room in Baljeet Nagar, Anand Parbat. The Anand Parbat police station received the report on September 14, and a team found the woman lifeless in the apartment where she lived with her husband, her mother, and two minor daughters. A senior police officer confirmed that Bhati was apprehended within hours of the incident, traced to Bulandshahar by a dedicated team.
The grim details emerged from the 10-year-old daughter, who told investigators she woke up between 3:45 and 4:00 a.m. that night. She saw her father standing near her mother, checking if she was breathing, before he fled the house. By the time the girl realized her mother was unresponsive, it was too late. The body was rushed to Lok Nayak Hospital, but doctors could only declare her brought dead.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams inspected the crime scene and examined the corpse. They discovered distinct nail-like marks on the left side of the victim's neck. Based on the minor's statement and these physical findings, police registered an FIR on September 15, pinpointing the husband as the primary suspect. During interrogation in custody, Bhati admitted to strangling his wife following a violent altercation rooted in strained marital relations and frequent quarrels.
Police records show no previous criminal involvement for the accused. The investigation remains active as authorities dig deeper into the circumstances of the crime.
